Founded in 2015, Doch Pvt. Ltd. is a social enterprise dedicated to preserving the traditional art of Balochi hand embroidery. Our mission is to empower women artisans by providing them with training, resources, and market access. With over 300 skilled artisans working across 7 business centers in Balochistan, we create exquisite hand-embroidered leather goods that celebrate our rich cultural heritage. FOUNDERS
Ms. Deedar Mengal, with 15 years of experience in the corporate and social sectors, is the founder of doch. She is highly talented in the art form. She learned the household embroidery technique from her grandmothers and often found herself in moments where all the household ladies socialized while engaging in needlework.
Deedar has presented doch in several local art and craft exhibitions and partnered with various social development programs. She is a staunch advocate for women-led initiatives, preparing and training those around her. In a tribal society, her outspokenness for women's empowerment is a testament to her strong will.
Saddam Ali Qazi, with nine years of experience in entrepreneurship and the social sector, is the CEO of doch. Saddam speaks four languages: Balochi, Pashto, Urdu, and English, and can even communicate in Parsi.
Balochistan is Pakistan's largest province, and doch has seven centers spread geographically throughout. Through his determination and skill, Saddam successfully operationalized and centralized the business. In his spare time, he is an olive aficionado and intends to start an olive export business in the coming years.
